I spent 12 weeks at the Namibian guest farm (May to July 2009) and had the most amazing time. I spent the mornings teaching the children of the staff English in the kindergarten, the afternoons horse riding and grooming the horses & the evenings waiting on & talking to guests.
I met many different people from all walks of life and learnt a lot about how the Namibian people live.
I was able to go on many game drives and by the end, I was good at spotting the animals & even recognising their footprints.
The staff were very friendly & supportive & keen to tell me about their upbringings, which I found very interesting.
I found the whole experience to be very fulfilling & worthwhile.
