Strategically located along the main road, Mile 8, Labuk Road. Sandakan B n B is a home away from home. A 3-minute walk from the main road will take you to Sandakan B n B and you are provided with rooms that are cheap and comfortable. Clean filtered water will assure you of the high regard for hygiene and a good breakfast will help you start the day.
You can get to our place either by taking a bus or taxi. The Sandakan Airport is about a 7 - 10 minutes drive from our place (taxi RM16.00 subject to current rates). If you want to get to Sandakan B n B from the airport, the landmark that you have to look out for is the round about with a giant turtle on it. Drive on and when you see an overhead bridge near SYN HUA Primary School on your left, make a right turn at the junction and you are there! However, if you are taking the bus from Kota Kinabalu (bus fare RM35.00 subject to current rates), which means that you are coming from the opposite direction, the landmark to look out for is the round about with the giant "orang utan" on it. Stop at the bus stop opposite the same school, take a 3-minute walk and you are there!
Sandakan B n B is just nearby the Mile 8 town, the nearby shops provide you with almost everything you need, from reload cards, banking facilities, cyber cafes, restaurants, saloons, clinics, electrical goods, fresh food from the market and even a KFC! Nonetheless, just in case you need more choices, there are two hypermarkets within walking distance.
Taking a bus or if you enjoy walking or cycling, the Crocodile Farm and Sandakan Memorial Park (mostly Australian POWS)are also interesting places to visit. The Federal and State Offices’ Buildings and Sandakan Golf and Country Club are also along the same main road. Taking the bus east bound will take you to down town Sandakan (bus fare RM1.80 subject to current rates). Taking the bus west bound will take you to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary, the highlight of your visit to Sandakan. If you have time, you can even visit Labuk Bay, where the proboscis monkeys dwell or go to Selingan Island (or Turtle Island) to see turtles (depending on the season) laying eggs on the beautiful clean beaches. Besides the local city tour, other interesting places to visit are Sukau and Guamantong Caves in the Kinabatangan area. To avoid disappointment, please notify us earlier if you are interested in any of the tours
