I first arrived at the project on one wet night in June, to be greeted by the smiling face of one of my fellow resident naturalists.

Training began immediately; no two days are ever the same, one day you may be flying over the canopy on a zipline with a high school group whereas the next you may be teaching them about insect diversity or helping them learn how to cook a Costa Rican meal.

Our duties are to facilitate all guests needs, and to try to let them feel the magic of the place in the short time they have here, every activity offered gives a new perspective on the place, the people or the wildlife.

In our free time we have the opportunity to explore the incredible area ourselves, and the beauty never dims, the diversity is phenomenal, with something new to see everyday and by better learning about the area we can make the guests experience that much more unforgettable.

Each night I have gone to sleep in my own casita, perhaps to the chiming calls of the kinkajous, eagerly anticipating what the next day may bring.

The area is stunning, and when I go I will leave a small piece of my heart buried here behind me. The experience is like the place, diverse and varied and through it you learn constantly and make new friends which you will hopefully never truly leave behind!
