The placements provide the rural youths of kenya with an opportunity to be involved in developing initiatives with an aim of addressing the major national problems of drug abuse, prostitution , HIV/Aids and crime through creation of sustainable income generating projects.
The placements targets local youths who makes up the majority of the country population with an aim of empowering them economically by involving in income generating projects that are run by the placements.
There are several placements in the field of youth ;
1. AHADI was registered as a Non Governmental Organization on March 2007. It came into existence as a result of several community Based Organizations and individuals with similar goals coming together to form an organization that would propel the rural communities to greater heights in education, health and economy through meaningful development strategies.
2.Ugenya Community Against HIV/Aids (U.C.A.H.A) youth organization is an indigenous community based organization founded on 14/07/2003 with a view to participating in the discovery, transmission and preservation of morals and to stimulate the productive life, economic and cultural development among the youth. Since inception, it endeavors to build the capacity of the rural youth to be the architects of their own development and be part of progressive global efforts geared towards youth empowerment.
3.Butula Umoja is a community based organization (CBO) registered with the ministry of culture and social services. It has a total of 210 members of different categories and background and has come up with different projects to empower the community and generate income for the members. Top most is Mushroom farming and has proposals for butterfly farming that it hopes to employ soon. Apart from the farming projects the CBO also is a stakeholder in the dispensary in the area. Bumutiru community dispensary which is situated at shibale market less than 50 metres from Butula Umoja CBO offices. The facility caters for over half the population of lower Esikoma sub-location thus will have a greater impact to the community at large who are the intended beneficiaries.
