This is a rural South African Non Profitable
Organization based in Tsweleni, in the heart of the Wild
Coast.
We are dedicated to the
youngest, aged between 3 to 7 years old pre-school students, and the elders
living in the rural former Transkei.
Our aim is to
improve health, living and learning conditions in our poverty stricken rural
areas, through creative awareness, education and local empowerment.
We would like to implement on a larger scale the concept of an
eco-friendly self-sustainable model, based on The Kraal Backpackers tourism
model that has been successfully running since 1997.
It would respect local cultural heritage and integrate new ideas that are
eco-friendly, and adapted to the local communities we live in. Implementing
adapted messages and methods to the Pondo people is what makes us such a strong
team.
After 9 years of dedication and involvement at
The Kraal Backpackers, John Dillon Harvey has a clear understanding of what
their needs and expectations are. Malvina Roudey and Dillon Harvey decided to
join their knowledge and ideas and bring the micro-projects already undertaken
to another level, and created us in
2005.
We believe that dreams come
true!
From experience, we know that positive changes
happen with creativity, education, togetherness, persistence, and continuity.
Understanding the needs, communication and team work is our force!
We believe that cultural differences and cross-cultural
exchange are strengths to a Nation, most especially for South Africa, known as
The Rainbow Nation!
Because, we are dedicated to make a difference, We
believe that starting at the grass roots is a priority.
Volunteers roles vary between teaching, healh care and construction work. We can adapt to your strengths.
