Kenyan Work Camps

Minimum Period : Each work camp lasts 14 days extensions are possible

We have six different eco-work camps/ecolodges in Kenya in different communities running in different times of the year.Each has its own special theme that suits the environment of that particular area.

Work Camps

Mago Community Nursery Tree plantation


This is a community-ran project, which is working with a local primary school to protect and create awareness on its surrounding natural ressources, such as River Yala, Lake Victoria, protecting the bush.

Maduha


This is a project based on a island of the Lake Victoria, which has been affected with a lot of floodings. Environmental challenges have risen poverty within the communities of Maduha. The workcamp aims at bringing the community together, to fight challenges people have been facing on the island.

Nairobi river


We're starting to work on this new project that will involve number of youth groups and parents from different slams in Nairobi such as Mathare,Kibera and Pumwani. All are located along Nairobi river. We're currently creating awareness about the project in the community on how community can have ownership of it. People who are involved in this project are youth groups who are from the different slams. More to come soon

Role of Volunteer

Volunteers will be living, working and sharing with the communities on importance of environmental conservation and identify oppotunities that may rise from conservation for the benefit of the
communities affected and the volunteers themselves.

Cost

Each work camp costs 180 euros.  Includes food, accommodation and transfers.

Travel

Volunteers will be picked up from Nairobi and Moi International airport in Mombasa.
