We offer volunteer placements conserving the Sea turtles of Mexico.
Volunteers will work day and night shifts to collect eggs; deliver them to camp; assure female returns to the sea; put eggs in the incubator, check nests and register data; free baby turtles and participate in workshops with other coastal communities about importance of protecting turtles.
Volunteers pay a registration fee of £110, then they fund their own travel, Visa, travel insurance and vaccinations. Food and accommodation are free of charge. For this project there is an extra fee of 210 euros to be paid on arrival to the partner organisation.
In order to join a project in Mexico volunteers have to attend a preparation weekend (there is one in June 9th to 11th and one in July 14th to 16th) in Brighton, England, where they are given tools, information on how to approach a volunteer project;, they are also given the chance to meet our past volunteers and receive a fist hand report of their experience. The cost of this event is £25 (it covers food and accommodation).
Volunteers ahve to travel to the site by themselves the best way is by local Bus/Train
