This is a tropical paradise, sheltered and nurtured within the Jamaican district of Muirton in the community Long Road.
You can visit with other travelers from around the world or visit with you host and his local staff.
There is a small bar that overlooks beautiful Manchioneal Harbor where you can play dominos and partake in lively storytelling. From here you can see the waves break through the blow holes on the other side of the bay, their waters forced through the lava shore and far into the air. You may in season see the manatee which look like "bobbing coconuts" in the waters.
A European breakfast is served each morning as travelers refresh themselves, trade stories and prepare for a day of Caribbean wonders. In the evening, you can dine on the fine cuisine of Owen who cooks flavorful Jamaican meals for those guests who plan ahead to stay for dinner. Owen is from the community and knows all its inhabitants. He will take wonderful care of your needs.
You can lounge in a hammock, on the beach or swim in the crystal clear
Caribbean waters of the bay. A kayak is available to explore the shoreline
and meet the neighbor children who play on the banks.
Role of Volunteer
Volunteers would help to clear areas of pollution and tip sites along the nearby river banks, gullies and beaches. Volunteers would also be expected to help with general cleaning work around the lodge and acting as a guide/source of information to the tourists.
Cost
US$30 per night for a single room.
US$40 per night
for a double room.
Food is included in the prices above.
Travel
Fly to the international Norman Manley Airport where you can be picked up from the lodge owner.
