We run an Advanced Ecotourism accredited fully hosted accommodation on the scenic north coast of Australia, surrounded by 1000 acres of bushland and fronting onto over 2 km of coastline. We are currently devising programs of activities that guests may wish to be involved in such as bird surveys, flora survey and propagation from seed collection of a number of rarer plants, water flow measurement and sampling, frog survey and weeding on the property.
Role of Volunteer
Volunteers will be required to work for 4 hours per day with a minimum commitment of 3 days.
Tasks include:
- helping in the organic orchard - planting seeds, preparing beds, trimming fruit trees, mending the net
- looking for new trails and evidence of Glossy Black Cockatoos (endangered)
- anyone who is artistic, we would love a big mural on our orchard fence
- collecting firewood - and perhaps find an Aboriginal artefact
- helping to clear historic trig site (c 1945)
- collecting storm debris from the beach
- bushfire hazard clearing
- weeding on the property
- making trail markers
- seed collecting
- and other projects, depending on your expertise
