The aim of the ecolodge is to have as little negative impact on the surroundings as possible and to promote a positive impact. This is being achieved by the continued re-forestation of the rainforest area on the property.
We also provide a eco-friendly experience for the guests staying here.
Solar power is used to heat the water and all grey water is recycled for use in the fruit orchard. We encourage our guests to participate in local activities and actively promote indigenous products and services as much as possible.
The ecolodge has been developed over a number of years and was built using recycled building materials. This includes the use of a disused church as a living area and the conversion of an old Queensland railway carriage into a kitchen area.
To date over 400 new trees have been planted, many of them by the ecolodge guests.
Helping with cleaning the guest rooms, vegetable garden, fruit orchard, rainforest and anything else that is needed.
