After years of experience in marketing and running volunteer programs, we are now running our own program and directly helping other NGO's to benefit from voluntourism. Using volunteers to help run and fund conservation and humanitarian projects can be a great way to generate new ideas and cash flow for projects which are both needed for a dynamic sustainable project.
Ecoteer Responsible Travel strives to offer truely responsible voluntourism and holiday options for the travellers in South East Asia. The projects will not only be responsible to the communities and environments they work in but also to the volunteer in terms of cost. Ecoteer Responsible Travel only makes profit from the lifetime membership fees of GBP55, the fee not only includes lifetime access to current and future Ecoteer Responsible Travel programs but also lifetime access to the general Ecoteer volunteer directory. Ecoteer Responsible Travel's aim is to become the number 1 provider for Responsible Travel in Southeast Asia.
Please note the majority of the projects will continue to be run independently.
Conservation through community involvement is becoming more and more important. The Ecoteer House project is educating the children about their environment and involving the villagers in small environmental initiatives like weekly clean ups and recycling. Helping the villagers to be more aware of their surroundings is what it is all about. You will also go on a weekly snorkel tour to help collect Coral Watch data and conduct beach cleans around the islands. Extra to the environmental side of the project you will help run an English club at the local primary school and interact on a daily basis with the village children and be privileged to be able to eat once a week inside a villagers home. We can also help organise cultural activities like learn how to make a Wau, (traditional Malaysian kite) or learn to read Arabic.
Come and join us in these islands and become one with the Perhentian villagers, the true island dwellers.
